A boy and his dogs

I have to say that sometimes Emma and George are in a love/hate relationship (George loves Emma, Emma hates George), but then there are times like this where she really enjoys him. We certainly don't spend much time throwing a ball or toys for her anymore. Most of the time she's trying to get a toy only to be told, "No, Emma, that's George's toy." Molly is always a bit protective of George, and defends him against Emma from time to time. (Emma gets jealous because she was the first baby and she thinks she's royalty and now George is the one with all the cool toys.) Molly has been protective since he was a little baby. If you wanted to hold him and Molly was around, it was best if you just stayed in one place and let one of us bring George to you. She got upset if someone new approached us while we were holding the baby.
Anyway, I think some of the arguing between the dogs you hear in this video is Emma trying to tell Molly that she's really just playing, and Molly trying to say..."well, you better be."

But, it's the giggles that make this worth the watch...make sure you have volume...

George's Christmas

We still have more celebrating to do...but we wanted to update you on a visit we had last night. We actually had a couple of visitors, Granddad and Grandma Joyce came and went to the early church service with us. Then we ate dinner, opened some great gifts and after they left I FINALLY dozed off just before dad was heading back out for the later church service. Since I was asleep, mom decided to tag along. I slept through all but about the last 10 minutes of the service. I woke up in time to see all the lights out, candles lit, and everyone singing Silent Night. I fell right back asleep on the way home. Then this morning (after sleeping in until 8:30 much to my mommy and daddy's delight), I found out we had ANOTHER visitor. I came downstairs to find a pile of new toys in my living room. How exciting! My mom and dad tell me that man in the red suit with the white beard that I met a few weeks ago brought them. What??? I wasn't even all that nice to him. He was a little scary and made me cry. How did he get in the house? Don't we lock the doors at night? Well, maybe I'll be nicer next year, and try not to cry when I see him because he was certainly nice to me! I got a Little People Farm, a Sit n Spin, a microphone, a train set and (one of my favorites) my very own dustbuster. I do love to vacuum.

After playing we had a nice big breakfast with pancakes and eggs. I do love pancakes. I also had lots of fun today turning on and off the lights. Who knew...all Santa really needed to entertain me today was to move a chair right under the light switch. My mommy also made a nice big lunch. However, I fell asleep after about one bite. I was just exhausted from the excitement. I got to eat when I woke up instead. My favorite was the sweet potatoes!!!

Here are some pictures! There were a lot, so my mommy just put them in a slideshow for you. She also put some pictures on here from my trip to the merry go round in Valley.

Love,
George

Cupcakes and animal sounds

Thank you Ms Sharon and Hannah for the delicious cupcakes. My mommy and daddy let me have one since I ate all of my peanut butter and apple jelly sandwich at dinner. My mommy said she ate that very same sandwich every single day of kindergarten and loved it. It seems to be my new favorite as well. My mommy and daddy had some wonderful homemade chicken soup from a dear friend at church...but I did nothing but spill that all in my lap. My mommy is finally feeling better after having the flu. Yuck. I'm just glad I didn't get that. These ear infections I keep having are enough. Well, here's me after enjoying my cupcake....my mommy is quizzing me about the animals.

Pink Pig

We took a trip down to Lenox Mall tonight to try out an "Atlanta tradition." It has not been a tradition for our family, but I think we may make it one. It was fun! We took a ride on the Pink Ping. We rode twice. George did not want to get off after either ride! He loved it. Not the best pictures or video, but you'll get the idea.

What does this say about George's mommy?

Well, a couple of things actually....
1. She let's her little pot bellied man walk around with half his clothes on.
2. She really should do a better job of making sure she has more than a cell phone camera handy.
3. She obviously has an addiction and George is aware. He wants to be just like mommy.
In the words of George himself....Uh-ooooohhhh. At least this drinking problem is just with diet coke. And, in case some of you are wondering if mommy is really THAT bad...no, she's not...the can was empty already.

Mom and George enjoyed the fall festival at the church tonight. What a cute puppy!

Farm tour and Maize

This afternoon we visited the dairy farm and corn maize (maze actually, but you get the play on words). Anyway, Cagle's Dairy is great if you haven't been. It's actually just around the corner from the house. Close enough in fact that we get a fresh milk delivery at our house once a week. Yes, we actually have a milkman. Today we took the tour of the farm and walked through (part of) the maze.
The tour was great! We actually skipped a few parts because George was getting hungry, but we'll go back again. Mommy's favorite part was not actually the dairy/cow parts...but it was the pig races! That is funny stuff. And pigs are pretty cute when they're all cleaned up for racing. George really seemed to like the cows. His eyes got huge when the "hay ride" pulled up where we could see the cows for the first time. George kept "mooing." It took us a while to figure that out because you can't make a good "mmm" sound with a pacifier in your mouth. We all know how George is about that paci. I dread the day we take THAT away. But, that's another story for another day.
Here are some pictures from today.
Wow, dad! Look at the cows!

Words...or something like it.

George has been trying to talk a bit more. Reports are that he has a lot more to say at school than he does at home with us, but we have heard several things ourselves. We hear a lot of "Uh-Oooooh." He's also learned "Ha" which translated is hot. Now that he has learned that word, all food is "Ha" and much of it also needs to be blown on to cool it down. Just this morning his pineapple was "Ha."

I've only heard it myself a few times...but he also says, "E I E I O." It phonetically sounds more like "Eee-eye-ooooh" but he sings it very nicely. Of course we still hear a lot of duck, cat, dog and light...but they're more like "Duh, Ka, Gog and Gah." Yeah...light is way off...but he's obviously meaning light when he says it. There's a lot of other chatter that I clearly don't understand as I don't speak fluent "toddler" but I think in time we will have quite a chatterbox.

Anyway, I don't really have any new pictures...but here is a video of George playing with the water hose...his favorite part of the whole trip to Florida.

At the sea

I know some of you have been anxiously awaiting a post about our trip to the beach. Well, I'll be honest. It's not that I didn't want to post, or that I hadn't sat down to post about it. It was just the overwhelming task of deciding out of 98 fantastic pictures...which ones do I post?
George LOVED the beach. He liked to go out and swim in the waves with dad. He loved to chase the sea gulls across the beach while calling for them..."duh. duh." That translates to "duck." He liked the pool...but only the big one. No baby pools for George. He also did not want to be in any rafts, swim rings...nothing. He wants to be held where his legs and arms are free to feel the water. (Yes, his nickname is Mr. Independent.)
His absolute very favorite thing about the whole experience was the hose. Yes, the plain old water hose you use to wash off the sand. We had to carry him away from it kicking and screaming everytime we came in from the beach.
We had a great time. The weather was fabulous and the crowds were gone. We hope to make return again the same week next year. Anyway, are some of my favorite shots from the week.

More of the arts...

George the artist at work...

After his hard work...a snuggle/snooze with dad.

And then there's George the dancer. There are no words....just laughter.
The music is not superimposed here...be sure to listen closely.

George the artist

George brought home some artwork from school today. The shape of the month is the circle and the color of the month is brown. This week his class talked about families.

Tissue paper circle

George's fingerprints (in brown)

I call this "Brown"

Our personal favorite. George learned a lot about his family. Bob said that it's obvious that that's him on the left.

George does his chores

George is a little taken with vacuum cleaners. A little...maybe that doesn't do it justice. He's obsessed. Loves them. He knows where it's kept and he likes to "visit" dear vacuum. Well, dear vacuum stopped doing his job effectively and will be asked to leave. But, in the meantime George was particularly excited today when mommy got her new vacuum cleaner and he could help mommy with his very own "big person" vacuum. He has a toy one...but I think he knows it's just a toy. Not the best video. The video camera was upstairs so Bob just grabbed my phone out of my purse, but you get the idea.

As a side note...we have changed the comments settings for the blog. You should be able to leave a comment now even if you don't have a google account. However, all comments will be sent to us first to view so we don't get spammers.

He likes ice cream, too

But, who wouldn't? George had his first ice cream cone tonight. He LOVED it. Mommy and George were both covered in ice cream. Here are some pictures dad snapped with his phone. Sorry...we're bad parents and didn't have the real camera with us.

Mommy turns 29 again...

We celebrated my mommy's birthday yesterday. What fun! We went to this place where a man came out and cooked our food right in front of us. He threw spatulas and things all over. At first, I didn't really know what to think and I was a little scared, but then I got used to it. I didn't even mind the when he made a little mini fire volcano right there in front of us. What I really enjoyed was all the food. I ate lots of rice, some noodles, veggies and chicken. It was good!

Then we came home and had cake! Cake, people! Who knew it was this good. Yes, I've had it before. But it was strange then. I didn't know how to react. Well, this time I knew what to do. I shoveled it in as fast as I could. Then, I let Emma clean me up. I think having two sisters is pretty handy sometimes.

Here's some video....

Here are some pictures too!
