tooth

Here it is...my tooth. Sure, it's small. Sure, it's just barely starting to cut through. But, it's there. And after many struggles...my mommy finally got a picture of it. She had a little help from dad. Oh, and I hope you'll ignore my crusty nose. I think I snorted a good portion of my dinner. Thankfully, I had my bath right after this picture.

Today

All I want for Christmas is....

My two front teeth! Well, I think I'll at least have one!!!!

My mommy and daddy have been on the lookout for teeth. They just knew one would cut through any day. Well, it wasn't there Saturday night, and it wasn't there Sunday morning...but during choir practice yesterday afternoon (yes, I go to practice with mom and dad...and I try to sing too!) my mommy thought she saw something. So, she felt in there and sure enough...I cut my very first tooth!

Mommy says we'll try to get a picture when you can see just a little more of the tooth!

What an exciting weekend. I found my tongue...mommy found my tooth....

Do you have one of these?

Guess what I found?!?! This absolutely amazing "thing" in my mouth! It's great for sticking out and perfect for making rasberries. You can see the marvel of this new "toy" in the video below.
My mommy made the picture you see in the car just as we got home from daycare yesterday. It seems I discovered this new thing about 10 minutes before mommy came to get me. She said that I learned it from Hailey. She has the crib next to mine and she's been doing this same thing for about a little while now. Mommy and Daddy have been laughing so hard at me. I also got to hang out with Ms. Laura last night and she thought I was funny too.
Oh...and you'll love that in the video, Molly had to come check out was I was doing, too. I think she approves.

Woodstock Parade

I was in my first parade this weekend! How many 6 month old babies are IN the parade vs. watching it? I loved it! I strolled in my "decorated" stroller for part of the parade, then my daddy wanted to show me off, and I enjoyed the view! I have to tell you that it was VERY crowded. There were lots of people there. But, once they saw me, they were free to go home. No need to stay and see the "big guy" at the end of the parade. I was after all, the star of the whole thing. Here are some photos taken by my "official photographer." She's a band mom...so she snapped pictures of the band and some really great pictures of me.

Oh, and now that I'm an expert, I'm available for other parade appearances. Just call me.

Baptism

My baptism was this past Sunday at Sixes Presbyterian. I was very good and I didn't cry. I really like Pastor Tom. I tried to pull on his beard. Some of the pictures are blurry. My mommy and daddy forgot that the batteries were dead in our camera, so these were taken with a different camera and we move to fast for it!

Santa

I had a very busy Thanksgiving week. My daddy got to stay home with me all week. My mommy was there starting on Wednesday. But, I got to see her on Tuesday during the day. My daddy took me to the place where mommy works and I got to visit everyone while they had their holiday lunch. But, they wouldn't give ME any turkey! At least I got some sweet potatoes on Thanksgiving!
My mommy and daddy took me to see this guy last week. My mommy said that she really likes him, and as you can see...I do too. My mommy said she has always liked Santa a lot not only because he's magical, but she also loves him because he reminds her of someone that was very special to her.
As for the rest of the week...it was busy too! I got to see a lot of people on Sunday. They were all there to celebrate my baptism. How special. We'll post some pictures of that later!

George's new trick

This morning, while my mommy was getting ready for work and my daddy was watching the today show, I was playing in my crib. My mommy and daddy were listening to me talk on the monitor when mommy realized that the music on my rainforest "soother" was playing. She thought dad had snuck in there and turned it on...but he hadn't. So mommy came in to see me and sure enough, I had wiggled my way over to that side of the crib and turned it on myself. I just laughed at mommy. She thinks that it's hard to do...but I have her fooled.

Guess what I can do!

I can sit up all by myself! Well, I'll admit, I'm no expert - yet. I'm easily distracted and I can't seem to do it without perfect concentration, but I'm doing it! My mommy took me over to Miss Jamie's house to have dinner with her and Miss Kellie and "the crew." I was sitting in the floor with my mommy and she just backed away...and I had it! Mommy and Miss Jamie were so excited! But they soon saw that I can't sit up and laugh at the same time. And since I laugh a lot, it's a bit of a problem. I'm going to keep working on it. In the meantime, here's a picture of me sitting up.

See what I mean about my mommy and chickens?

Cluck, Cluck, Night, Night.

Halloween

So, it's some holiday called Halloween. My mommy says that you should be sure to check back because they plan to embarrass me tonight and dress me in this fluffy suit and show me off to people. And what is the fluffy suit? Well, some of you may know already. Some of you may not. But, I'll give you a hint. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree. What is it with my mommy? She really seems to fall for chickens...big and little.
Stay tuned!

Go Gamecocks!

I hope you enjoyed all the smiles and giggles I had on Sunday. I was happy because I had so much fun this weekend. I made my first trip to see where my mommy and daddy went to school...Jacksonville State! I had so much fun. I went to a ZTA reception, saw lots of pretty girls and flirted with many of them. I went to the Homecoming parade and we tailgated with some friends. I got to see lots of my mommy's friends and meet some of my new friends and future Gamecocks! So, check out the pictures!

Pumpkins!

Today my mommy and daddy took me to something called a pumpkin patch. I'm not sure I totally understand...but I had a pretty good time. We also got to see something they said will be more important in a few months. Christmas trees?

Hope you all had a great weekend...here are some pictures!

Tommy Turtle

We had a visitor in our backyard this afternoon! Emma and Molly found him first and then my mommy had to "rescue" him. This was not a rescue from the outdoors, but rather from our backyard where he could be tortured by my sisters. We're not really sure how he made it to our patio...inside our fenced yard. But, he was there! My mommy even let me take a quick peek. She had to put him in a box in the garage till daddy got home.
Oh, and this is for you, uncle Patrick. NO, we couldn't keep him. Mommy says no reptiles or amphibians. So, no turtle and as a reminder...no frogs in future years. Oh, and that's not the only reason why. This turtle was an Eastern Box Turtle. In the state of Georgia, you can't capture them from the wild and keep them as pets. Daddy says they're not endangered, but pretty close. Mommy says that we have to obey the law and the best thing we can do is find him a safer place to be.
Daddy named him Tommy and took his picture before he took him to the woods behind our house to live. Daddy said he put him down by a nice log and said a prayer for Tommy before he let him go. So, we all pray tonight that Tommy Turtle will find a nice home, free from dogs. God Bless You, little turtle.

George

Three Month Photos

I'm such a camera hog. Here is a little slideshow of my 3 month photos. Of course, I'm about 4 months old now...but it took my mommy a while to get the photos back and put them into a slideshow.

Football Season

Well guys, sorry for my absence. It's been busy! I have really been on the go for the last couple of weeks. Let's see...I saw the Marching Southerners for the first time about two weeks ago. I cried. Not because they were so good (even though we know they always are) but because I was tired...and they were very loud. I also went to my first football game and my first Homecoming. I liked that ok. Got a lot of attention. I'm kind of like a local celebrity...well, actually I'm not kind of...I am. Especially since there were lots of my dad's former students there. So, it was very entertaining until later in the evening, I wanted to go to sleep....and there was this mean band director (my dad) who kept making the band play loud songs. So my mommy had to take me to a quieter part of the stadium to get me to sleep.
This week was rough. I had to have more shots. I still have knots in my legs from them. Ouch! I'm getting huge though. I weighed in at 17lbs. 10oz. and I'm 25.5" long. I'm a big boy! Funny, we found out that I'm almost exactly the same size my mommy was at my age. I've also started eating some other foods...besides my cereal. I've had apples, bananas and sweet potatoes. I wasn't that fond of the apples or bananas, but I'm at least learning to like apples. I LOVED sweet potatoes. It's fun to eat new foods.
My uncle Jim and Aunt Shrestha stopped by this weekend to see me. They're funny. I like them a lot. I talked for them and laughed at them.
Next week I'm going to go to Jacksonville for the first time. It's Homecoming there. I'm going to go with my mommy, Ms Jamie and Hunter and Devin. We are going to meet up with lots of my mommy's other friends there. I'm very excited. I'm sure my mommy will take some pictures. Until then, here's one after my bath tonight. My mommy bathes me and I "bathe" her too. Then my daddy gets me ready for bed. This is me talking to him and telling him how I soaked my mommy. I love to kick and splash. The other picture shows me tucking in my bottom lip to bite it. I've been doing this a lot lately. My mommy says that she thinks I'm already trying to get a tooth! Mmmmm....does that mean even more sweet potatoes?

George

The Colonel and Grammy

I had a lovely weekend. Perhaps not so lovely for my mommy. She's been a bit under the weather. That explains my delay in posting. You see, I'm pretty smart, but I don't type. I can only dictate. Anyway, the Colonel and my Grammy came to help look after me AND my mommy Thursday night and stayed through Sunday. My mommy and daddy were so grateful! I, personally, just thought it was wonderful to play with them. Oh, and you should have seen the diaper I made for them first thing on Friday. I had to make sure they were up for the job. They passed.
I'm sad that they have gone home, but my mommy is on the mend and my daddy has even managed to get a little shut eye. Thank you Grammy and Colonel!!! I love you!

George

Here are some pictures from the weekend. (Oh, and my grandparents aren't really into dressing alike. These pictures were actually taken on different days. But isn't it kind of funny?) I've also included one of Anne. Now she's REALLY funny. Any dog that chills out like this is silly. I like her, even if Emma and Molly won't usually let her too close to me. I did get a kiss on the foot from her!

Atlanta Botanical Gardens

What a fun Saturday! My mommy and daddy took me to visit the Atlanta Botanical Gardens and I loved it! (I think mom and dad had a pretty good time too.) I saw so many interesting things and really had a lot to study and learn about. Here are some pictures from our day.
Love,

Pictures with my "folks" in the orchid garden.

More pictures of me enjoying and studying the orchids....one of my favorite parts of the gardens.

Checking out the water garden with dad.

Great photo opportunities with mom and dad.

Priceless...look at that smile!

Worn out after a long day. This was taken in the Childen's gardens. I'll have to go back to see that part. Oh...and my dad says I look like I'm ready to start conducting something. What do you think?

My first game of tag!

My mommy said she didn't know you could play tag in the blogging world, but I guess you can! (See fotographie femme's blog) Actually my mom was tagged, but since I'm the one doing all the blogging around here...I get to play, too.

The idea is to write something about me for each letter of my name. So here's mine...

G - God's child.
E - Excited about the world around me. I like to study my surroundings. I put on a very serious face and when I think I've figured it out...then I usually give a big smile.
O - Original...no one else like me. My mommy and daddy say that makes me their special gift.
R - Ready! I'm ready to stand, ready to walk, ready to talk. I just haven't quite figured it out yet. I have very strong legs and I have liked to "stand" on them before I was even two months old. And I babble and babble to people. I wonder if they understand anything I'm telling them about the world around me?
G - Giggles...I love to giggle! I love to make others giggle!
E - Enourmous! I'm a very big boy now. If you haven't held me lately, you should look into some weight training before you see me again. I was 16 lbs. 4 oz. at the doctor last week!

But, to be fair, here's my mommy.

L - Learning. I'm learning something new everyday in this adventure of motherhood.
I - Idle...I'm not. I'm not very good at just sitting still and doing nothing. I'm well known around our house for getting cabin fever and saying...we have to get out of here!!!
B - Big...I've felt this way since, well, about last March. :-)
B - Busy! I have more to do everyday than I ever feel I can complete. I'm learning to make myself enjoy this time and leave work and the laundry for tomorrow. (This has been great for my "non-idle" side)
Y - Young. I may be 30...but I will always be young at heart. (and might I add...younger than Bob!)

Ok...the tagging thing. I don't really have anyone I can tag. I mean, there's Jim and Shrestha, but I think what I'm going to do with this tagging is put a tag out there for more of my friends to start their own blogs. We would love to see what all of you are up to!

Love,
George and Libby

Mmmmm....cereal!

How fabulous is real food? Well, ok, it's still just baby cereal...but it's not that plain old boring milk I've been drinking for months! I know, you're thinking..."But George...we thought you loved your milk?" And I still do! But, I have to admit that I was getting a little bored with the same old routine. I think that you grown up people have been holding out on me. I've seen you eating that yummy smelling stuff. I want some of that now! But, mommy and daddy say I have to work my way up to it. Anyway, here's a video of me eating my first solid food!

George

Exersaucer

My daddy put together my exersaucer on Saturday. It's my new favorite thing. I like to sit in it and play with all the toys. I like it because I can be "independent." I like to push up and stand and look around when people hold me, so this little device is just my sort of thing. My mommy and daddy say that I'm just growing too fast. Anyway, here are some pictures. As you can see...I'm working on my Vegas skills....trying to get three bunnies in a row. You can also see that my sisters were enjoying play time too. My mommy said that if you want to see a couple of videos of me in my new exersaucer, click on the link below to George's videos.

George

Need a smile?

These were taken about two weeks ago, but we never put them on the blog. I thought Saturday might be a good day for a couple of smiles...
