George and George

Look...here I am hanging with George. Cute, huh? It was lots of fun...for a while. Then as you can see, I got rather bored with it. Time for nap.

Sunday at Church

I went to church again this Sunday and wore a very special gown that my cousin Katherine made for me. I'm a doll...I know.
I had fun today because I got to sit with the choir. Mommy wasn't going to go back to the choir yet because she's not ready to put me in the nursery and obviously I can't sit with dad since he's directing the choir....but the other choir members insisted. So, there I was. I didn't even fuss about it. I just had my milk while everyone else sang. They sang so pretty that I couldn't hold my eyes open.

Bathtime

I just really love my bath time. Well, for the most part I do. I put up with it for a while, but I don't like to have my hair washed. That's when it's not fun anymore. Sometimes it takes me a while to get over being mad about it too. For instance, tonight, after my bath...my parents thought it would be so cute to put me in my little duck robe and take some pictures of me. Well, it's not cute people. I just want you to put on my pajamas and feed me some milk. So, that's what my mommy did. All is well now.

George

Happy Birthday Mommy!

Mommy, me and my sisters.

Mommy saving me from the fire.

Mommy's cake

Well, today was my mommy's birthday. She asked me not to tell anyone just how old she is now...but I'm only 7 weeks old. How smart does she think I am? I don't even KNOW how old she is...except that she said she was about 30 times my age. Wow...that's a lot. No wonder she didn't want you to know. Of course she told me another secret about dad...that he's even older than her! I guess that makes her feel better.
Today we went to West Georgia College to meet my dad at his band camp. His band is playing music from some musical called Wicked this year. My parents said I'm too young to know what it's all about, but that the music is good. And it was! My mom and I both wore green for the occasion...but my mommy forgot to take the camera. (See, I told you she was getting old.) But some of the band mommies and daddies took my picture while I was there. I was very popular with everyone there. It's so hard to be cute.
Anyway, after all that was over, we ran some errands and then my daddy took my mommy to dinner. We just went to a place called Taco Mac. Nothing fancy. We were all so tired. After dinner daddy stopped and got mom an ice cream cake. When we got home he set it on fire and sang some song. Once again, my mommy had to save me...she put out the fire. She explained that's what you do for birthdays...but it just seemed silly to me. At least daddy didn't get a candle for every year of mommy's life. He would have had to call the fire department.
Gotta run! It's time for some milk and sleep!

George

Play Time!

My mommy said that many of you were very anxious to see some new pictures of me. I know it's so hard to wait for the next posting. I'm really just so cute that no one seems to be able to get enough of me. But, you see, I've been kind of busy. I spend a lot of time playing, smiling and laughing now. I have a lot to learn and explore.

I'm actually writing you tonight from my Grammy and Colonel's house. My mommy and I are here for a visit because my daddy is at West Georgia College. He is there with his other 100+ kids. They have been working very hard to get their band show ready for the fall. I got to hear them play the other day. It sounded very nice. I really can't wait to see them on Saturday. I bet they will sound even better. Not to mention...I'll be very happy to see my daddy. I miss him terribly.

Today, I spent some time playing with my Grammy and my sisters. You can see my sister Molly playing with me in one of these pictures. She brings her own toys and sits beside me when I play with my activity gym. Emma also brings toys, but she wants me to throw them, and I don't really have that good of an arm...yet.

Hope you are all doing well. I will try to post even more pictures soon. I'm sure we'll take lots on Saturday.

Love,

George

My sisters...

Most of you know I have two sisters. They look a lot different than me. My mom and dad said they are "furry babies" but that's a little confusing to me since neither my mom or dad is furry. Anyway, my sisters do seem to love me a lot. It has taken a little while for them to get used to me, but I think we're tight now. Molly, is my security guard. She is ok with people holding me but she prefers that I be handed to people by my mommy or daddy. Don't just assume you can come pick me up. Oh...and don't even think about approaching my mommy if she's holding me. Not if you want to keep your nose.
Now, my sister Emma. She's a different story. Emma likes me, but in a different sort of way. She thinks I'm here to play with her. Emma thinks everyone should play with her. After all...the entire universe revolves around her. Well, that's what my mommy said that Emma thinks. Sometimes when I start to coo and talk to my mommy or daddy, Emma will bring us a toy. Emma also thinks everything is hers...my toys, my milk, my parents food! She really likes if she can get one of my bibs or burp cloths covered in milk. Today, she tried to take over my boppy pillow. She said that it must be for her because it had the perfect little curve to curl up for a nap.
Life will be interesting growing up with these two for sisters. My mommy and daddy said they already know what my first words will be...."Emma, No!"
Love,
George

This has gone too far....

OK, I will get you all. My mommy said she knows who lives on Nottingham Lane. Things like this should not be allowed in the US Mail. I haven't even met you...man they call Brian. This sort of thing can be terrifying...as you can clearly see. What kind of people would find such a thing amusing?

Going to church

Today was my first Sunday at church. I sat in the back with my mommy and my daddy came back to join us during the sermon. I dozed through most of it. Everyone was making a big fuss over how cute I am. Yeah...I know. But could someone please tell my parents that these shorts are just not good for showing off my fabulous legs?

Oh...and it may be blurry, but check out this toothless grin!

Loehr Farm

I made my first trip to the Loehr Farm in Lavonia today for a visit! What a great time. I got to meet my Great Uncle Roy and Aunt Lougene. See?

We all went out to lunch and the rest of the time I enjoyed what I enjoy most...besides the milk I rave about...being held! I like that about as much as milk. Check this out, my grandmother Joyce not only held me and spoiled me, but she gave me milk, too.

There was plenty of loving to go around. It's now way past time for me to go hit the bassinet again. But, I'm trying to trick my mom and dad into holding me all night. I figure if it worked all day...it will work all night?

Swingin'

Little Charlotte she's as pretty as the angels when they sing
I can't believe I'm out here on the front porch swing
Just a swingin'
Swingin'
Just a swingin'
Swingin'

Anyone remember that little number from the 80's? If you knew my mommy back then, I'm sure you do!

Well anyway..so my swing is not on the front porch and there's no Charlotte. But I did have my mommy there and I like her plenty. And is there a better way than a gentle swing with a binky to spend an afternoon at home? You tall people should try it sometime.

Love,
George

Danger!

Hello friends and family. I'm sorry I have taken so long to update you. Let's face it...I'm a whole week older and that makes a big difference when you're as small as me! I've been very busy during the last week. I took a trip to Tuscaloosa to see my Grammy and the Colonel. It was a nice trip except for one little incident. It's really just to horrible to even tell about...but I will. Perhaps, if nothing else, this will serve as a warning to any other small children who might want to visit the man they call...Colonel.

It was a very pleasant day when my parents were packing all my belongings in the car (and I have a lot of belongings!) The sun was out, but it was actually below 100 with a few clouds to block some of the direct sunlight. We were all thinking about how nice the drive would be since we wouldn't just have to run the AC full force all the way home. So, my Grammy, who I really like even though she stripped all my clothes off and made me take a bath while I was there, had just finished giving me one of my favorite things. You all know what that is...milk! I had a nice burp and my mommy took me to put me in my comfy little car seat when it happened.
Thankfully, my mommy is a quick thinker. She's sharp and this time it very well may have saved me.

This is what she found in my seat!

I was sharked. Can you believe that there is a man out there who would do this do a baby? A small innocent little baby? My mom explained that even though she had plans to "raise me better than that," she will teach me how to get revenge.
I think that perhaps the Colonel should start watching his back. You never know when you might walk into that important meeting and open up your briefcase to find a shark. Or...what if you got in your car to go somewhere and found that he had started chewing through your seat belt.
It's a dangerous world...you better keep an eye out for sharks!
